Field Trip!

"Under the Spreading Chestnut Tree" =]
On Friday, I was able to go visit Mr. L over at school 4 again. I was very excited to see what class he had that day and what songs he was going to teach them. He had another kindergarten class, but it was a different and more well-behaved class then the last time I went over there. I noticed some real talent in that class, as well as a real interest in music. Some of those kids caught onto the words Mr. L was teaching them before I even did. I was very impressed. Maybe sometime soon, I'll be able to help Mr. L teach a song to a class, or even teach a whole song by myself. That would be amazing. Of course, I might be a little nervous, and who knows if the kids would want to listen to someone they don't even know, but it's worth a shot. Next time I go see Mr. L., I'm probably going to leave earlier than 8th period, so I can shadow a different class, hopefully an older one, in order to compare the different techniques he uses to keep the kids attention and such.

  1. These little kids really are metaphorical clay to be molded. Isn't it amazing how some kids are sharper that us adults (yes, I consider you to be a young adult). One kind word or bit of encourgement placed at the right time has the potential to change a child's life
